Proteqta

Terms & Conditions

The full legal terms governing the Proteqta Payout Backstop. Last updated: October 2026.

1. What Proteqta Is

Proteqta is an independent payout-backstop provider, operated by Proteqta, based in Dubai, UAE. We are not a prop firm, do not run trading challenges or evaluate trading, and do not act as a broker or custodian. We reimburse eligible traders when a partnered prop firm denies or blocks a payout, subject to the eligibility rules published for each backstop tier. A backstop is a discretionary assistance arrangement, not a contract of insurance.

2. What It Isn't

We never hold trading deposits or client funds, and nothing on this site is financial or investment advice, a recommendation to trade, or a solicitation of any kind. Your trading relationship — the challenge, the funded account, the platform — stays entirely between you and the prop firm you've chosen; Proteqta sits outside of that relationship and has no say in how it is run.

3. Fees & Payment

What you pay to add a backstop is a flat service charge for reimbursement eligibility — never a deposit, never an investment, and never anything that earns interest or a return. Once a backstop is active the fee is final, except where a refund is required by applicable law. These fees fund Proteqta's own operations: request verification, payouts, support, and the infrastructure behind the product. Nothing on this site is an offer to buy, sell, or trade forex, CFDs, futures, options, or any other financial instrument.

4. Regulatory Status

Proteqta is based in the UAE and is not licensed or regulated as a bank, payment institution, broker-dealer, or insurer by the UAE Central Bank, the Securities and Commodities Authority, or any other financial regulator, in the UAE or elsewhere. The Payout Backstop is offered as a discretionary, contractual assistance arrangement between you and Proteqta, not as a regulated financial, insurance, or investment product, and no regulator supervises or guarantees it.

5. Eligibility

Our services are intended for traders who are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement. Proteqta does not knowingly offer backstops to residents of jurisdictions where doing so would be unlawful, or to individuals or entities on an applicable sanctions list, and may decline or cancel a backstop where that is the case. Our services are not offered to residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We do not knowingly sell backstops to UAE residents, and we may verify country of residence, block purchases made from the UAE, and cancel any backstop bought in breach of this restriction. By purchasing, you confirm that you are not a resident of the UAE.

Which accounts are covered. A backstop covers only a prop firm account whose challenge started after the backstop was purchased. A one-time backstop must be added to one specific challenge before any trade is placed on that account. A subscription covers only accounts whose challenge started during the subscription term, or during an earlier term that was renewed without a gap. An account that had already placed a trade, passed a challenge phase or reached funded status before the purchase is not covered. We may check this against the account's creation date, challenge ID and trade history.

6. Reimbursement Limits & Cooling-Off

A backstop is active from the moment it is purchased, but the first reimbursement request under it can be submitted only once 30 days have passed since purchase. Each reimbursement is limited to the amount the prop firm actually denied (or, for a block before payout, the stated percentage of your backstop amount), up to your backstop amount, and never more than $3,000 per verified person per reimbursement. After we pay a reimbursement, a 30-day cooling-off period applies: you cannot submit a new reimbursement request until 30 days after that payment. The limit and the cooling-off apply to each verified person across all of their backstops, one-time and subscription, and backstops cannot be combined or stacked to get around them. To apply them we may match accounts by verified identity, payment method and device.

7. One Person, One Account

Each person may hold only one Proteqta account. To be eligible for reimbursement, the email address registered with Proteqta must match the email address registered with the prop firm, and your verified identity must match the name on the prop firm account. Backstops must be bought with a payment method in your own name, and reimbursements are paid only to you. The prop firm account must be your own: accounts that are shared, borrowed, bought or managed by someone else are not eligible, and a backstop cannot be transferred to another person. Before we pay a reimbursement we may require identity verification and supporting evidence, including the prop firm's denial or block notice, your account and payout history, and the challenge ID, and we may review device, network and payment details to detect duplicate accounts. We may pause a request until the information we ask for is provided.

8. Misconduct & Fraud

A request is not eligible, and may be rejected, if it involves multiple accounts or identities held by the same person or group; false, altered or misleading information or evidence; a denial or block that you caused on purpose, such as by deliberately breaking the prop firm's rules; hedging or coordinated trading across accounts to profit from a denial; collusion with a prop firm, its staff or any other person; a prop firm that you or an associate own or control; a backstop bought after you knew a denial or block was likely; or a payment that is disputed, charged back or made with a payment method that is not yours. If we find any of these, we may cancel all related backstops without refund, withhold or recover any amount already paid, close your account, refuse future sales to you, and report the matter to the prop firm, payment providers and the authorities where appropriate. Our decision on whether a request involves misconduct is final.

9. Coverage, Firm Events & Exposure Limits

The Payout Backstop covers a payout that a partnered prop firm denies, or an account block before you can request a payout, where the case meets the conditions in these Terms, including a decision that follows a change to the firm's rules. It does not cover a prop firm's insolvency, closure, wind-down, regulatory freeze or inability to pay, or a denial or block that followed a genuine rule breach. If one event at a single prop firm leads to many reimbursement requests at once, the total we pay for that event is limited to 50% of the reserve we hold for reimbursement requests when the event occurs, shared pro rata between all eligible requests; amounts above that limit are not payable. To stay within these limits we cap how much cover we hold against any one prop firm and may pause new backstops for that firm when its cap is reached; backstops already purchased stay in force.

Covered situations. The Payout Backstop applies where a denial or block results from, or follows, (a) a platform or technical error; (b) a firm rule that is unclear or reasonably open to more than one reading; (c) a change to the firm's rules or policies during a challenge; or (d) a KYC or identity-verification issue that arises despite your genuine, accurate and complete submission. This does not cover cases involving false, forged or another person's documents, misrepresentation, or a breach of sections 7 or 8. All other exclusions in this section continue to apply. Each request is reviewed on its evidence, and payment is not automatic.

Your firm's process comes first. Before you submit a request, you must use the prop firm's own review or appeal process. You may submit a request once the firm has confirmed its decision in writing, or, if the firm has not given a final answer within 7 days of you raising the matter, by showing us evidence of your attempt.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Proteqta's total liability arising from a backstop is limited to the backstop amount purchased for that request. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including trading losses incurred with any prop firm.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms and your use of Proteqta are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that can't be resolved directly between the parties is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the onshore Dubai courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our products or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date above shows when this page was last revised; continued use of Proteqta after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
